Your status as a Japanese Government Sponsored International Student (hereinafter “MEXT Scholar”) is granted by the Japanese Government. Take pride in your status as a MEXT Scholar and strive in your academic pursuits at Ritsumeikan University (hereinafter “the University”) to achieve results befitting of that status.
This page includes important regulations which MEXT Scholars enrolled at the University must follow in order to maintain their scholarship status. Failure to follow these rules may lead to the suspension of your stipend or outright revocation of your scholarship.
After reading and thoroughly understanding everything contained within these pages, please sign the separate “Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Sponsored International Students Rules and Regulations Letter of Consent” (MEXT Letter of Consent_国費同意書 .docx) and submit it to the International Center. Submission instructions will be provided via email.
The rules, established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, or MEXT for short (hereinafter “MEXT”; Japanese name “Monbukagakusho”), change from time to time. In the event of a change to the rules, the International Center will notify all MEXT Scholars enrolled at that time.
