In order to be eligible for Tuition Reduction, your enrollment status must be registered as "current student (zaigaku)" or "study abroad (ryugaku)." If you take a leave of absence, you lose eligibility for any Tuition Reduction currently being granted. Further, Tuition Reduction cannot be deferred.
<Second-year undergraduate students and above>
April enrollees granted one year of Tuition Reduction in May, who then take a one-semester leave of absence for the Spring Semester, can apply for Tuition Reduction in the following Fall Semester after reenrollment.
September enrollees granted one year of Tuition Reduction in November, who then take a one-semester leave of absence in the Fall Semester, can apply for Tuition Reduction in the following Spring Semester after reenrollment.
<First-year undergraduate students>
First-year undergraduate students granted one year of Tuition Reduction at the time of admission, who then take a one-semester leave of absence just after enrollment, are eligible for the remaining one-semester of Tuition Reduction on an application basis after reenrollment. If they take a leave of absence for two semesters or more, however, they must freshly apply for Tuition Reduction after beginning their second year of study. To be clear, in both cases, an application must be submitted.
<Graduate students, Graduate Category Ⅱ, 20% Reduction>
April enrollees granted one year of Tuition Reduction in May, who then take a one-semester leave of absence in the Spring Semester, can apply for Tuition Reduction in the following Fall Semester after reenrollment.
September enrollees granted one year of Tuition Reduction in November, who then take a one-semester leave of absence in the Fall Semester, can apply for Tuition Reduction in the following Spring Semester after reenrollment.
<Graduate students, Graduate Category Ⅰ, 100% Reduction>
Graduate students granted 100% Tuition Reduction for their standard program duration are not required to reapply for Tuition Reduction when they reenroll after a leave of absence.
