If I do plan to leave temporarily Japan, how do I get a Special Re-entry Permission/Re-entry Permission to return to Japan?

If you will return to Japan within one year, please apply for Special Re-entry Permission at the airport when you are leaving Japan.
If you will return to Japan in over one year, do not apply for Special Re-entry Permission, but go to your local Immigration Bureau to obtain a Re-entry Permit.
