- Who are eligible to re-enter Japan
Currently, in principle, the individuals who fall under the following two categories are eligible for re-entry into Japan.
(1) Those who have a valid status of residence (residence card)
(2) Those who are recognized as having “special circumstances”
Specifically, those who left Japan with a re-entry permit by August 31, 2020, but were unable to return to Japan before the expiration of their re-entry permit and have obtained a new Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and visa.

The Japanese Government’s epidemic prevention measures have remained in force, and they have also announced conditions and procedures necessary for entering Japan.
