Students who live in each International House (I-HOUSE/G-HOUSE) are NOT allowed to return directly to those immediately after re-entry.
In the Japanese Government’s epidemic prevention measures, the following procedures (before and after entering Japan) are required of all individuals entering Japan from all foreign countries and regions.
- You must secure a place (your home, etc), designated by the Chief of the Quarantine Station, to quarantine for 14 days FROM THE DAY AFTER your entrance into Japan (test specimen collection day).
- You must secure transportation from the airport, etc. of arrival to the place where you will quarantine, WITHOUT use of public transportation.
- You must register said place for quarantining and means of transportation from the airport, etc. at the Quarantine Station after arrival.
As such, from the day after you enter Japan for 14 days, you must quarantine at your own home, a company-owned house, a relative’s house, a friend’s house, a monthly rental, or a hotel which you have reserved on your own, and cannot go out for that duration (accommodations with common-use toilets, bathrooms and other facilities cannot be used, so dormitories cannot be used either).
Ritsumeikan University’s International Department is working with a travel agency to introduce students to hotels where they can stay for the 14-day quarantines and for charters from the airport to the hotel.
