Due to the current situation surrounding COVID-19, it was announced by the Immigration Services Agency that Certificates of Eligibility which are normally valid for 3 months will be treated as follows (Announced on July 5, 2021).
・Certificates of Eligibility issued between January 1, 2020 and July 31, 2021 will be valid until January 31, 2022.
・Certificates of Eligibility issued between August 1, 2021 and January 31, 2022 will be valid for 6 months from their date of issuance.
However, please be careful of the following information:
If three months pass AFTER the issuance date listed on the Certificate of Eligibility, you will need a document stating that "the university can still accept the student under the same activities as when applying for issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility" issued by Ritsumeikan University.
When applying for the visa and when entering Japan, you will need the following two documents (1. Certificate of Eligibility and 2. The above document issued by Ritsumeikan University).
