The Government of Japan decided that the holders of statuses of residence of “Student” and others of all countries and regions will be incrementally permitted to enter Japan from October 1, 2020 within the framework “Residence Track”.
As such, there are a lot of preparations that must be made by yourself and rules that need to be followed before you enter the country as well as after you arrive in Japan (*Note1). The first things first, understand about this.
Ritsumeikan University has prepared a web system (AMARYS) for you to submit and report to the university, such as application for issuance of a pledge required for applying VISA, progress of pre-departure preparations, and daily health condition after entering Japan.
From the application for issuance the pledge required for visa application to the daily report of your health condition after entering Japan, you will be required to do everything on this system (on AMARYS).
Please access the following URL and submit / report the necessary information.
Also, even if you are not planning to come to Japan right now (in October or November), please be sure to submit at least STEP1 by Friday, November 6th via the URL below.
(Note1) What must be made by yourself and rules that need to be followed before you enter the country as well as after you arrive in Japan are depend on whether your departure country / region is designated as subject to denial of landing not having it. Please check the information at the nearest Japanese Embassy / Consulate General or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website here
(Note2) Residence Tracks are only for "new-entry" those who need a university-issued pledge. Only "new-entry" students should submit from the URL below. Those who still hold a re-entry permit or who have expired their period of stay (or expired re-entry permit period) while returning to their home country and apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) are not applicable: since a pledge is not required when applying for a visa, please do not use the following URL.
